Privacy policy

Personal Assistant (PA) is a private personal planning application operated by Eric Nyarko. This policy explains how the app and this public information website handle information. The app is restricted to its authorised owner.

Information PA processes

PA processes information entered or connected by its owner, including tasks, notes, goals, memories, messages, preferences and forwarded emails. Google sign-in and calendar authorisation can provide an account identifier and email address.

When Google Calendar is connected, PA accesses calendar event information, such as titles, descriptions, dates, times and locations, and stores a local copy of synchronised event data. It requests permission to read and edit calendar events. It uses this access to display schedules, support planning and reminders, and carry out event creation, changes or cancellations that the owner confirms.

Storage and service providers

Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide authentication, database storage and backend processing. Google Calendar provides the connected calendar service. Cloudflare hosts the app and information website, and receives forwarded capture emails. Pending email content is stored privately in Cloudflare R2 until PA acknowledges successful storage; failed deliveries remain available for retry.

Google Calendar refresh credentials are encrypted before storage on the backend. Service secrets are kept server-side. The public information website has no connection to the owner's private records.

AI assistance

PA uses Anthropic's Claude API for AI-assisted features. Relevant app content, which can include calendar information, may be sent to Anthropic when those features run so that it can generate responses, summaries or suggestions. Ordinary calendar synchronisation and receipt of forwarded capture emails do not themselves require AI processing. AI-proposed changes require human confirmation.

PA does not use Google user data to train a general-purpose AI model. Information is not sold or used for advertising. Service providers process information as needed to deliver the app's features under their applicable service terms.

Google API data

Personal Assistant's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used to provide the personal planning features described here.

Retention and controls

App records remain until removed through available app controls or an administrative deletion request. Disconnecting Google Calendar in PA removes the stored calendar refresh credential and synchronised event copies. It does not delete events in Google Calendar or separately saved notes, tasks or conversation content that may refer to those events.

You can also revoke Google's authorisation through your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorised access but does not itself erase data already stored in PA. Contact the operator to request removal of retained records. Provider logs and backups may have separate retention periods.

This public website

These information pages do not include advertising, analytics scripts, sign-in forms or app data. Cloudflare may process technical request information, including IP addresses, for delivery, security and operational purposes. Opening an external link is subject to that website's own privacy practices.
